Jake Di Pietro (Bloged Project One)

Starting this assignment, I worked with the words; two faced, playful and curving. So I took the previous sculpture apart and sanded off all of the paint on one side, including the original paint that came on the bike. I did this with heavy-duty “belt” sand paper that I found in the “extra stuff” pile we all have maid through out the course of the project. I did this to show the true face(s) of the frame.

About half way through I decided that my words were not working. So I replaced playful with mangled. I have quite a few pictures in my entry because I don't think the end result was playful but the process of making it was. To mangle, was to play, a long with the un-removed paint scheme from the pervious sculpture. By playing with the bike frame I un-intentionally, intentionally mangled the metal frame into a contorted shape. I should add that I intentionally started this project with none of my own materials. I relied entirely on what I could fined around me to make my sculpture.

My three words: Mangled, Playful and Curving.

My time slot was from 2:00pm to 4:00pm Friday March 19.
